Dress to impress?

At last, I've made a decision to buy the most comfy and a bit formal clothes I can think of.  I have tried on different dresses, and different brands. Ang mahal pala ng dress dito kahit sale. And, those dress from H&M doesn't really fit my apple-shaped body. It was so hard for me. I have a slim arms and legs but my mid section is very full, top it up with a flat butt, ang sagwa lang..

Anyways, I bought two skirts, and it was an epic fail. I looked nice sa fitting room, pero when I tried it sa blouse na I was planning to wear, duh!! It emphasize my flat but and the humps on my upper hip, plus the love handles... what the!..
Now, I thought, I wanted something comfy, because I will be attending the party with my 3 boys, so I said, why not wear a formal shorts? My hubby doesn't like it at first, he thinks shorts can't be worn for formal occasions, I guess wala lang siyang idea. But I've seen a lot of those in the past. So I said I'd settle for shorts, it's easier to run around, chasing kids wearing shorts than skirts..

So, there, shorts. Next, what's for the top? I've tried the knitted tops, ribbed ones, the floral chiffon blouse but it doesn't feel right. So, why not go back to my first love? The only formal attire for me is my button down tops.. I usually wear button down at the office (when I was working back then) and when I need to attend a formal gathering. Kasi nga I don't feel comfy sa dress.. and I am not confident to flaunt my uneven figure... to there.. shorts and button down top.

For the color? I am chubby so I like black, but it would be so plain, so I went for a  top with touch of tiny designs, and I saw a perfect one at cotton on.. It was one size bigger,  I wear small  when it comes to button downs/button ups from cotton on, but I've decided to get a sizr bigger, because of my full breast and, I wan't to tuck it in, so I need it to be longer, I hope it won't look soo shapeless..

You might be thinking.. who am I trying to impress? Well, I am trying to impress myself, I been a full time mom for a year now and my self esteem is quite low, so I wanted to boost my confidence that even if I am not a working mom, I can still look my best when needed..

Now, I am thinking of a shoes to match this outfit..  I bought a simply vera wang black leather wedge ( peep toe and sling back) but I am not sure if its a good match. I wanted a pump with block heels because I am not really good with thin heels and stilletos.. it would kill my feet.. ang sakeet nun, and "tiis ganda" wouldn't work for me.. Caged wedge shoes is ok too..  let's see...

Soo there you go... just sharing how I come up with my party dress.. 'er attire to wear this coming Saturday.

I'll be posting/updating my blog of my ootd with the shoes that I'd be wearing with this outfit.

Ciao!
